We are pleased to announce the release of CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2027, a major version upgrade that introduces interactive design compliance checking, expanded LandXML interoperability, new tools for railway maintenance workflows, and a wide range of usability improvements across Plateia, Ferrovia, and Aquaterra.
This release also brings full compatibility with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2027 and BricsCAD V26, alongside continued support for earlier CAD versions back to 2020 (Autodesk) and V24 (BricsCAD). CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2027 can be installed side by side with your existing 2026 or older installation, preserving your existing settings.
What’s New in 2027?
*Common to all products*
- A new interactive compliance check for alignments and profiles: Get immediate visual feedback during design, so you can see and correct potential issues before finalizing the alignment or profile.
- Expanded Label Settings: New label options for Axis Name and Station and Projection Lines, with extended controls for colour, justification, and length. Plateia and Ferrovia additionally gain Design Speed, Station Control, and Hectometric labels.
- LandXML export now includes cross sections: Station, name, elevation, and offset data are exported in LandXML 1.2, improving interoperability with Autodesk Civil 3D and other BIM tools.
Plateia (road design)
- 2D intersection mode and multiple intersection points: Quickly draft intersections without terrain data, and choose which intersection point between two alignments is used.
- Circular alignments improvement: Self-contained alignments such as roundabouts and closed-loop roads are now fully supported without manual trimming or editing. Profile Views and cross sections can now be created directly after draping to terrain data.
Ferrovia (railway design)
- Automatic hectometric station marker in longitudinal profile: A circular marker is drawn at each hectometric station alongside the existing text, making positions immediately visible.
- Beta tools for railway maintenance operators: Beta tools for railway maintenance operators bring an upgraded workflow for track realignment with direct import of Leica RRR measurement files.
Aquaterra (river design)
- Faster MIKE export: The CGS_MIKEEXPORT command now reads cross sections, sample lines, and projection points directly from the drawing. The user can choose which point to mark: the river alignment or the lowest point of the river channel.

CGS Labs Civil Solutions 2027 is a major version upgrade. You can install it alongside your existing 2026 (or older) installation, so your previous settings remain available. From this point on, further updates will apply to the 2027 version only.
