Hydrometric and meteorological measuring instruments

Our range of instruments for measuring water levels in surface water and groundwater is wide. The meters use different physical measurement methods — measuring rods, float meters, pressure probes, and non-contact radar gauges. We offer consultations on selection, installation, and integration into automatic weather stations.


Flow measurement in rivers and other open channels can be carried out with mechanical hydrometric wings, with ultrasonic flow meters (Doppler meters), with non-contact radar gauges, and with electromagnetic flow meters. The meters can be portable or stationary. We provide consulting on the right choice according to the user’s requirements and needs.


Using multi-parameter probes, we can carry out continuous monitoring or spot measuring of surface water, groundwater, and sea water quality. Different sensors and probes are available that allow data storage, which makes them robust and flexible.


The Hydras 3 product range offers powerful software solutions intended mainly for hydrometry. It supports a variety of features — from setting up measuring instruments to managing measurement networks. The right package is selected depending on the requirements, and individual features can be customized according to the user’s preference.


Ultrasonic measurement of wind speed and direction has many advantages over the traditional mechanical measuring. Our offering includes simple and highly professional ultrasonic wind meters for a broad spectrum of applications — even in extremely challenging conditions.


Advanced compact meters allow you to measure multiple meteorological parameters at the same time. They are convenient, cost-effective, and built on tried and tested technology, and measurements are carried out in line with international standards.


Different meteorological sensors are built into the compact meters, and they are combined according to the station’s purpose: for meteorological observations, for hydrological observations, for road weather, for monitoring and control of solar power plants, for agrometeorology, and for smart buildings.


Our offering includes simple and very complex meters for the amount, intensity, and type of precipitation, developed for large networks of weather stations and certified by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). These meters provide measurement in the highest accuracy class even in challenging environmental conditions.


Agrometeorological stations and measurements help farmers plan their agricultural production. Our offering includes many agrometeorological sensors and stations that use wireless telemetry with very low power consumption. A number of dedicated software solutions are also available that alert to possible development of plant diseases.


Data is the heart of every measuring station. The choice depends on the purpose of the measuring station, the complexity of the measuring location, and the type of power available. Data sources support different forms of data transmission — from manual to radio and mobile networks, as well as satellite transmission.


Measurement and consulting

Flow measurement

We have state-of-the-art flow meters and provide measurement services. We measure flows using traditional hydrometric wings, with hand-held instruments using the acoustic Doppler method, with the continuous integration of the velocity field and the cross-sectional area, and with electromagnetic water flow velocity meters.

Ecologically acceptable Qes flow

We assist water right holders (fish farmers, SHP owners…) in establishing monitoring of ecologically acceptable Qes flow, as prescribed by the Decree on the criteria for determination and on the mode of monitoring and reporting on ecologically acceptable flow (Official Gazette RS No 97/2009). We install automatic hydrological stations or simpler solutions with measuring rods. In the latter, we create a flow curve that allows us to deduce the flow using the water level reading on the water gauge.

Urban hydrology

Urban water management is becoming increasingly challenging. The intense and highly localized weather events in times of climate change bring about the need for setting up additional sensor networks that can complement the existing national network of hydrological and meteorological monitoring. Our company specializes in measuring hydrological and meteorological parameters, especially the quantity and intensity of precipitation using different measuring methods, including IoT. The available data enable us to identify and optimize measures for reduing flood risk using modern tools for advanced flood modeling.

Monitoring the quality of water is essential to ensure sustainable water use. We offer solutions for monitoring basic physicochemical parameters in natural water sources like groundwater, watercourses, lakes, sea…

Water monitoring during construction

We carry out water quality monitoring during the construction and operation of facilities. The purpose of monitoring is to prevent or reduce the negative impacts that the construction of infrastructure facilities has on the environment.

We took part in the biggest environmental monitoring project in Slovenia  BOBER (Better Observation for Better  Environmental Response). The project was implemented between 2009 and 2015 by the Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia. At more than 90 new weather stations throughout Slovenia, we installed sensors to monitor the amount and type of precipitation and the current weather manufacture by OTT Hydromet, Thies Clima, Jenoptik, Biral, Imko, and Adcon.
